i think a big part of the problem today is that teens, and adults alike, walk into it hoping to get diagnosed with whatever it is they think they have or wish they had. they go in, having read every article they can find about lets say adhd or bpd, and they know what to say and not to say to fit the stereotype of their wanted diagnosis. and they’ve already taken all the tests online so when it comes to that they know what to check off to get the highest score, leading to a lot of misdiagnosing
